On August 21-22, 2021, IT Park, together with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and UNDP, will hold a data hackathon in the field of information technology as part of the World AI & Data Challenge competition with a prize fund at the international final stage of 5.5 million rubles.
Data hackathon is organized for everyone interested in artificial intelligence and software development on data. The hackathon will be held online, during which the best developments will have the opportunity to reach the final at the international level, where they will be introduced into various fields of activity and replicated around the world.
CIS countries such as Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Moldova and Russia will take part in this hackathon.
The aim of the competition is to unite states, communities, data owners (open and closed) and IT-Data specialists with the aim of introducing digital changes in the world, solving global socio-economic problems using artificial intelligence and machine learning, as well as the practical development of competencies in state data-driven governance bodies and competencies in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning among the data community.
The main objectives of the competition are to collect innovative projects to reduce poverty, enhance remote monitoring of a patient with cardiovascular diseases, predict the balance of labor resources based on open data, identify pollution of rivers and water bodies, create models for predicting search and rescue operations in the natural environment, and others.
The competition will consist of three stages, namely:
Stage 1 – competition of problems;
Stage 2 – competition of solutions;
Stage 3 – implementation competition.
At the first stage, the participating countries submitted tasks for which the participants of the hackathon (developers) can create solutions using open data. As part of the second stage, a two-day online hackathon will be held, where participants from different regions will develop solutions for social problems. In the third stage, projects will be implemented in areas of activity.
IT Park, as a representative of Uzbekistan, submitted the following 3 tasks for the contestants within the framework of the competition:
1. Profiling of poverty in the country
– development of an innovative method for profiling poverty in the country;
– automation of data collection and processing.
2. Development of a system for remote monitoring of a patient suffering from cardiovascular diseases through arduino and a smartphone using machine learning in order to prevent myocardial infarction and cardiac fibrillation.
3. The labor market in the country – it is necessary to understand trends in terms of supply and demand, the requirements of employers for the skills and qualifications of job seekers, as well as the desires of the job seekers themselves.
Hackathon teams will have a great opportunity to test hypotheses of solutions, refine their minimum viable product (MVP), as well as find potential ideas for a startup and work with experts in the field of artificial intelligence and data. Participation in the hackathon will allow you to get closer to the international stage and compete for a cash prize of 1,000,000 rubles for 1 place, and the total prize fund will be 5,500,000 rubles.
Participants who have passed to the final stage of the competition will receive full access to online courses on information technology from leading schools and universities in the world, which will help to better prepare for the final presentation, hone their oratory skills and maximize their innovative developments.
