The training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel — Doctors of Philosophy (PhD) and Doctors of Science (DSc) is carried out through doctoral studies, basic doctoral studies and independent competition.

The legal basis for the training of doctoral students, basic doctoral students and independent applicants is the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 16, 2017 No. UP-4958 “On further improvement of the postgraduate education system” and the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to further improve the postgraduate education system” dated May 22, 2017 No. 304.

The basic doctoral program is a form of postgraduate education in the specialties of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel of the highest qualification, organized for applicants for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) for in-depth study of the specialty and their conduct of scientific research in order to prepare and defend a doctoral dissertation on the job, funded by the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
