The Central Asian Medical Pediatric Institute, now the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute, and our department were established in 1972, considering the high birth rate in the Central Asian republics. During this time, the department has accumulated vast experience in training pediatricians, general practitioners, family doctors, and both pediatric and adult stomatologists. In 2001, based on the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of TashPMI, and on the initiative of Professor Saidakrom Askarovich Hasanov, under the guidance of Professor Sunnat Nigmatovich Mahsudov and Associate Professor Kh. Shamsiev, a course in pediatric stomatology was organized. Since its establishment, many efforts have been made by the staff to improve the educational, medical, and pedagogical work with students.

Between 2011 and 2016, a master’s and clinical residency program in “Pediatric Stomatology” was introduced. Since 2011, the course has been headed by Dr. Surat Saidivalievich Gulyamov, MD, PhD. In the 2018-2019 academic year, a master’s program in “Pediatric Maxillofacial Surgery” was established. As of 2024, the Department of Stomatology and Pediatric Stomatology has been organized under the leadership of Dr. Gulyamov.

In the structure of diseases affecting our population, pathologies of the maxillofacial region predominate, involving stomatologists and general practitioners (GPs) in their treatment.

Therefore, the training of highly qualified specialists equipped with modern diagnostic and therapeutic knowledge and skills is a priority for the healthcare system of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

You can find news about the department’s educational, medical, scientific, spiritual, moral, and public activities, and navigate the Internet on contemporary educational issues, searching for the necessary information on various search engines. The page materials are designed for students of the pediatric, medical, and medical-pedagogical faculties, clinical interns, residents, doctoral students, and faculty of the Department of Stomatology and Pediatric Stomatology. The page is available in three languages (Uzbek, Russian, and English).

Additionally, the content of the page can be useful for parents interested in their children’s success in pediatric stomatology.

The employees of the Department of Stomatology are unique specialists in the country.

Each teacher and clinical intern has their own scientific and medical direction. This information may be useful for the parents of our patients and for people with charitable intentions. The department teaches in three languages: Uzbek, Russian, and English, and requires the same from the students! The staff continuously improves their pedagogical skills and qualifications, as standing still in a competitive environment means falling behind!

To enhance the quality of its assigned tasks, the department plans to actively engage with specialists from similar departments abroad and exchange experiences with them.
