Assistant of the Department “Psychiatry, Narcology and Child Psychiatry” of the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute, PhD T.B. Irmukhamedov and Botirov A.K., the head of the Sirdaryo Department of the neuropsychiatric clinic in February 19-28 of this year organized a seminar course for 20 doctors of general practice of the Sirdaryo under the program of Action for assistance in mental disorders (MhGAP) of the World Health Organization in primary joint medical institutions provided for by paragraph 4 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan №196 of 2023 year.

The World Health Organization’s program of action to provide assistance in mental disorders is aimed at being put into practice, taking measures to detect and treat mental disorders early in the primary unit of medicine itself, developing skills and improving the knowledge of doctors and other medical personnel of primary unit medical institutions in clinical assessment, treatment and monitoring of people with mental disorders.

During the seminar there were the doctors were given practical recommendations on the first signs of mental disorders, their premature identification as a general practitioner, clinical diagnosis, tactics of conduct and further observation.

The Seminar was organized in the form of a heated question and answer, clarifying situations with life examples of mental disorders that general practitioners have encountered in their practice.

At the end of the training program, all seminar participants will be presented with 54-hour certificates.
