Education students at the department are held 1, 6 TashPMI courses that teach the subject “Hospital pediatric surgery” and the basis of the children’s outpatient surgery, providing for training of general practitioners for primary care. In addition, the department trained clinical residents and graduate residents in the specialty – pediatric surgery.

The main clinical base of the department is the City Children’s Clinical Surgical Hospital №2 city of Tashkent. Hospital bed capacity is 185 beds and includes a branch of elective surgery, emergency surgery, surgical infection, thoracic surgery, traumatology, orthopedics and intensive care unit.

Auxiliary clinical bases of the department are neonatal surgery department of the Republican Perinatal Center and the Department of Pediatric Surgery GKDB №1. High enough bedspace various surgical create maximum conditions for the teaching of pediatric surgery at relevant section.

In teaching, along with traditional methods (posters, color slides, study X-rays, etc.) use modern teaching aids – video lectures, movies are complex operations, electronic textbooks. Thanks to the initiative of prof. N.Sh.Ergasheva at the Department organized a library in which collections are textbooks and monographs on pediatric surgery, magazines. “Pediatric Surgery”, “Surgery”, “Journal of Surgery”, “Pediatrics”, “Surgery Uzbekistan” et al. (Of more than 100 names). Foundation library students can use both in the daytime and while on duty at the clinic.

6th course of pediatric faculty

Prepare a general pediatrician for independent management of qualified medical and preventive work in the primary health care, providing diagnostic and medical care in emergency situations for emergency and emergency care, providing diagnostic and medical care at home, in a day hospital, polyclinics for the most common surgical diseases children at various stages of their course, the implementation of sanitary-hygienic, anti-epidemic and therapeutic-prophylactic measures in the centers of mass destruction, questions of rehabilitation after discharge from the hospital.

  • methods of surgical treatment and indications for their use. Indications and contraindications to their appointment.
  • Clinico-pharmacological characteristics of the main groups of medicinal products and rational selection of specific medicines for the treatment of the main pathological syndromes of diseases and urgent conditions in children.

The student must have the skills to:
  • assess the status of the patient, conduct his complete physical examination of the patient (examination, palpation, auscultation, measurement of blood pressure, determination of the properties of the arterial pulse);
  • Methods of general clinical examination and interpretation of the results of laboratory, instrumental diagnostic methods.
  • an algorithm for setting a preliminary diagnosis followed by referral of the patient to the appropriate specialist doctor.

Modern aspects of diagnosis and treatment. Prevention of urolithiasis. Lectures are held in the auditorium of the 2-city Children’s Surgical Clinical Hospital in Tashkent with the use of multimedia programs.

  3. Diagnosis, differential diagnosis and treatment tactics of a general pediatrician with closed trauma of abdominal organs and retroperitoneal space in children.
  4. Diagnosis, differential diagnosis and tactics of a general pediatrician with dynamic and mechanical intestinal obstruction in children.
  5. Anomaly of biliary tract development. Mechanical jaundice in children. Differential tactics. The tactics of a general pediatrician at a prehospital stage.
  6. Complicated disease of the colon and chronic constipation in children. Differential diagnostics. Indication for surgical intervention. The tactics of a general pediatrician.
  7. Early and late complications of chemical and thermal burns of the esophagus in children. The tactics of a general pediatrician.
  8. Diagnosis and differential diagnosis of foreign bodies of different locations in children. The tactics of a general pediatrician.
  9. Bacterial destruction of the lungs in children. Differential diagnosis, the basic principles of treatment. The tactics of a general pediatrician.
  10. Pus-inflammatory diseases of soft tissues with an unfavorable premorbid background in children. Diagnostics and differential diagnostics. The tactics of a general pediatrician.
  11. Differential diagnosis and treatment tactics of a general pediatrician for acute, chronic and atypical osteomyelitis in children.
  12. Differential diagnosis and treatment tactics for uropathies and acute urinary retention in children. The tactics of a general pediatrician.
  13. Diagnosis, differential diagnosis and tactics of a pediatrician with complicated forms of abdominal hernia (inguinal, umbilical, femoral, white abdominal line), diseases of the testicle and elements of the spermatic cord in children.

Practical classes are conducted in classrooms equipped with multimedia equipment, with each academic group separately. Classes are conducted using interactive pedagogical technologies, which are predetermined by the teacher. Teaching hospital pediatric surgery involves the use in the educational process of new pedagogical, information and communication technologies, banners, maps, slides, electronic versions of educational literature and multimedia, visual aids for practical exercises, handouts, situational tasks, tests and visual aids. The results of practical medicine in hospital pediatric surgery are used.

  7. The course and classification of thermal and chemical burns of the esophagus.

  9. The main causes leading to acute urinary retention. Prevention of acute urinary retention in children.
  10. Types and classification of congenital anomalies of the kidneys and urinary tract.
  11. Pathogenesis and complex of medical measures for purulent-inflammatory diseases.
  12. Pathogenesis and prevention of acute and chronic osteomyelitis.
  13. Primary surgical treatment of wounds. Vaccination against tetanus.
  14. Pathogenesis and classification of intestinal obstruction.
