Report on participation in the scientific and practical conference “Migraine Management – Practical Issues”

Migraine is one of the most common neurological diseases that affects millions of people around the world. It significantly affects the quality of life of patients, their ability to work and social adaptation. Despite advances in medicine and pharmacology, many aspects of migraine management remain understood and require deeper analysis and discussion. On March 15, 2025, a scientific-practical conference in a hybrid format was held in Almaty. The conference provided a platform for the exchange of experience between specialists from different countries, which allowed identifying the best practices in the diagnosis and treatment of migraine. Participants were able to discuss modern approaches to disease management, including new methods of therapy, prevention and rehabilitation. The conference also became an important step towards integrating scientific research and clinical practice. This allowed not only to increase the level of doctors’ knowledge about migraine, but also to improve the quality of medical care for patients. Scientific reports and practical seminars helped participants to familiarize themselves with the latest achievements in the field of migraine neurobiology, pharmacotherapy and alternative treatment methods. Attention to the problems of migraine at the international level will help to attract the attention of the public and government agencies to the need to develop effective programs to combat this disease. Discussion of issues related to the availability of treatment, social support for patients and education of doctors will be an important step towards improving the quality of life of people suffering from migraine.

Particular attention will be paid to modern possibilities for neurorehabilitation of post-stroke patients, and the application of the experience of foreign countries in clinical practice in our country. For this purpose, joint projects have been created with Western countries (Austria, the AUREUZ project, which provides for the training of neurorehabilitation specialists in the country). The next 5-day workshop of the AUREUZ project will be held from April 2 to 6, 2024 in Tashkent and 50 specialist doctors and visiting nurses from the Syrdarya and Khorezm regions will take part in its work. The neurological project with Germany continues its work (a project with the Angels Initiative organization, which provides for the management of patients in the acute period of stroke).
In March 2024, a project was launched with Japan, with the help of the Zhaika organization, which provides for solving the issues of training specialists in post-stroke rehabilitation, in order to reduce disability. Projects with Russia are successfully working on the possibility of training neurologists and neurorehabilitation specialists in Uzbekistan.
